On Tuesday, May 20, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced off in IPL 2025 match 62 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The team captained by Sanju Samson ended their otherwise disappointing campaign on a bright note with a resounding six-wicket victory.
CSK got off to a rough start after being sent to bat first, dropping five wickets in the opening eight overs. Ayush Mhatre’s rapid-fire knock preserved their chances. Off of 20 deliveries, the opener scored 43 runs.
Dewald Brevis, who scored 42 runs off of 25 balls, also had a big influence. Even though Shivam Dube scored 39 runs in 32 balls, the team was only able to score 17 runs from the last 18 balls in the last overs.
In the end, CSK scored 187/8 in 20 overs. The best bowler was Akash Madhwal, who had outstanding numbers of 4-0-29-3. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old opener for RR, maintained his stellar run by scoring an amazing half-century.

The youthful player scored 57 runs in 33 balls, making him his team’s best hitter. The squad exceeded the target in 17.1 overs because to the excellent work of captain Sanju Samson, who scored 41 runs off 31 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin bagged two scalps for CSK.
It is important to note that neither team will be competing in the IPL 2025 playoffs. RR had four victories and ten losses by the end of their campaign. At the moment, they hold the ninth position in the rankings.
Nevertheless, CSK remains at the bottom of the standings. In 13 games, the team captained by MS Dhoni has three wins and ten losses.
On that topic, let us take a look at three moments from the match that sparked buzz among the fans:
1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi touches MS Dhoni’s feet after RR’s six-wicket win
After the game, Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave MS Dhoni his whole admiration. In a classy gesture, Suryavanshi stroked Dhoni’s feet as the two sides shook hands.

RR purchased Suryavanshi at ₹1.10 crore during the super auction, becoming him the youngest player ever selected at an IPL auction. After scoring 252 runs in seven innings during his inaugural season at a strike rate of 206.55, the southpaw made a significant splash.
2. Dewald Brevis dazzled the crowd with a spelding no-look six

This year, one of CSK’s advantages has been Dewald Brevis. The South African cricket player was signed by the five-time champions to replace Gurjapneet Singh, who was injured.
Since arriving, the daring hitter has made some significant contributions to his team. His strokeplay, which included three sixes and two fours, delighted the audience once more.
A spectacular no-look shot against left-arm bowler Kwena Maphaka’s bowling was one of those maximums. Brevis sent the ball screaming over the midwicket boundary for a casual six on the fifth delivery of the ninth over.

During the game, a doppelgänger of CSK captain MS Dhoni was seen in the crowd. Several admirers took photographs with the famous cricket player, suggesting that his lookalike was well-liked by the audience.
When Dhoni’s lookalike appeared on TV, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was providing Hindi commentary, appeared astounded by the remarkable resemblance. This is a video of Sidhu’s response to Dhoni’s duplicate:
