India has now lost 14 consecutive tosses in men’s international cricket, the most recent coming during the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series against England. Ben Stokes has won all four tosses against Shubman Gill thus far.
This is highly unlikely, with a probability of one in 16,384. The last time the Indians won the toss in men’s international cricket was in a 20-over match against England in January of this year. Since then, they have not won a single toss.

India Start Strong in Must-Win 4th Test Against England at Manchester

In the current series, India trails 2-1. Their single victory came at Edgbaston, thanks to historic batting performances by Shubman Gill (269 and 161) and Akash Deep’s 10-wicket haul (4/88 and 6/99).
They have begun their innings in Manchester on a good note. Under overcast conditions, the opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul handled the new ball relatively well. The visitors were 78/0 after 26 overs, with Jaiswal and Rahul undefeated on 36 and 40 respectively.

India wrapped up the day at 264 for 4. Ravindra Jadeja was on 19 and Shardul Thakur on 19, both still at the crease and not out.
