Australian cricketer Alyssa Healy acknowledged that she wanted Indian batter KL Rahul was a member of her country’s squad and professed her appreciation for him. Mitchell Starc and the cricketer, who was born in Bengaluru, are presently playing for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2025 Indian Premier League.
The 35-year-old disclosed that the batsman-wicketkeeper is among the most reserved people she has ever encountered. The left-arm pacer even said, “Probably,” when she questioned if KL Rahul would fit in the Australian changing room.
“You know what? spending a little bit of time around this group, like KL Rahul is like the quietest person that I’ve ever met,” said Healy in the Willow Talk podcast on the LISTNR Sport YouTube channel.
The host of the podcast praised the Indian cricketer’s composure in the face of mayhem at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and implied that he would be a good addition to the squad.
“Yeah. He’s just like the most cool, calm, collected dude you’ve ever met. Like lovely, and I feel like he’d just be sitting in the corner of the SCG just waiting to go out there and bat and do his thing for Australia. So, he’d be a nice asset to have,” said the host.
“Like I was watching I was at the SCG test and watching his demeanor when all that was going on with that was the day that garbage was going on with Virat and the crowd and you know, Virat was just playing to the crowd and bit on the line. KL looked like the calmest dude in the whole stadium,” he added.

The right-handed batter praised the 33-year-old’s calm demeanor and pointed out that he follows a set hitting routine and puts the team’s needs ahead of his own.
“It seems like it’s less about him like he’s got a really distinct routine and takes a little while to set up when he’s batting and I’ve watched it live. But it feels like there’s less fuss around him. It’s like a little bit less about him and more about the team which I think could fit in more to the Australian way of thinking. So, that’s just my opinion,” she concluded.
