Rajat Patidar and Shreyas Iyer, captains of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), stands with the IPL trophy before the start of the 2025 final. On Tuesday, June 3, the two teams will face off in the final match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
The two captains held the trophy in their respective jerseys at Narendra Modi Stadium during a pre-final picture shoot.
The pictures that were uploaded to the official IPL Instagram account are as follows:

In Qualifier 1, RCB beat PBKS to make it straight to the final. They then had a Qualifier 2 game against Mumbai Indians (MI) which they won by five wickets to assure themselves a spot in the summit clash. Big plus here is that both the teams haven’t won the IPL trophy as yet which means that there will be a new winner this season.
Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar shine as captains ahead of IPL 2025 final

Shreyas Iyer is playing his first IPL season with PBKS. He led the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third trophy in the history of the competition while he was with them last year. He has now reached his second consecutive final with a different team.
PBKS finished as table toppers in the league stage, winning nine matches and picking 19 points from a possible 14. Rajat Patidar is handed over kitty captaincy in only his third season with RCB this year while meanwhile RCB player turned coach Mike Hesson returned to his home country New Zealand.

Rajat Patidar has also performed admirably as their leader thus far. RCB finished second in the rankings, with nine victories and 19 points from 14 games, trailing only Punjab in net run rate.
PBKS will be eyeing the revenge of this defeat in the final while RCB will be eager to replicate their performance in the first qualifier. The two teams will give both captains a timely jolt as they have never won the trophy and it sets up for a blockbuster clash.
