Former cricketer Deep Dasgupta believes ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah’s availability is critical for Team India in the fourth Test of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Thanks to victories at Lord’s and Headingley, England now leads the five-match series 2-1.
In order to control his workload, Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the second test. According to reports, the fast bowler is only expected to appear in three of the series’ games.
According to Dasgupta, he has heard that Jasprit Bumrah might be rested for the fourth Test and play in the last match. However, he underlined that in the crucial match, India will require their best bowler.

Dasgupta stated in an interview with Star Sports:
“Jasprit Bumrah in the fourth Test, absolutely yes. I’ve heard rumors that the plan for him was to play in the first, third and fifth Tests. But now, when India are 1-2 behind, the fourth Test becomes very, very crucial. You would definitely want the world’s best bowler to play. There is an eight-day gap between the two Tests. It remains to be seen whether the fifth Test is still relevant after the fourth Test, but the relevance of the fourth Test is considerable.”

Jasprit Bumrah has been playing in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in incredible form, which is worth noticing. In as many Test matches, he has already claimed five wickets. In four innings, he has taken 12 wickets at an average of 21.

In the meantime, India was hurt in such a way when it lost to England in the third test at Lord, London by 22 runs. The hosts also managed a thrilling 193-run target defense to win in the fourth innings.
Anil Kumble Advises Jasprit Bumrah to Prioritize England Series Over Playing at Home

Former India head coach Anil Kumble believes Jasprit Bumrah should play in both remaining Tests on the England tour. He said that resting the 31-year-old for the forthcoming two-match home Test series against the West Indies will help manage his workload.
In an interview with JioHostar (via NDTV), the Indian spin legend said:
“I would certainly, if I’m a part of that group, I would certainly push Bumrah to play the next game because that’s crucial. If he doesn’t play and then you lose the Test match, that’s it. The series is done and dusted.
Anil Kumble
“I think Bumrah should play both the Test matches. I know he said, ‘I’m only going to play three’. We have a long break after this. You don’t need to play the home series. You can take a break if you want. But Bumrah should be playing the next.”

The fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will take place at Old Trafford in Manchester from July 23 to 27.
