On Tuesday, May 6, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) faced off in IPL 2025 match number 56 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In a thrilling conclusion, GT defeated the host team by three wickets (DLS method).
GT got off to a fantastic start after choosing to field first. Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, the MI openers, were out early. They lost four catches in the first eight overs, though, as a result of their early field carelessness.
The two cricketers Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav utilized all their opportunities to build a 71-run partnership at the third-wicket position. Both MI batsmen achieved their first half-century in T20 cricket when Jacks hit 53 runs from 35 balls and Suryakumar scored 35 runs from 24 balls.
The score after 20 overs for Mumbai was 155/8. Gujarat’s bowler Sai Kishore had a clean performance, scoring 4-0-34-2. With left-arm pacer Trent Boult dismissing in-form opener Sai Sudharsan in the second over, GT’s run chase got off to a shaky start.
Their top run scorer throughout the chase was captain Shubman Gill, who hit 43 runs in 46 balls. In 27 balls, Jos Buttler scored 30 runs. Gujarat placed themselves in a vulnerable position at the conclusion due to a few rain breaks that didn’t help.
GT was assigned a revised goal of 147 (19 overs), with 15 runs required from the penultimate over when play restarted. In the pivotal over, Deepak Chahar gave up a four and a six and even made the critical mistake of bowling a front-foot no-ball.

Mumbai’s six-match winning streak came to an end after Gujarat thrillingly went past the target on the final ball. Gill’s hitting and captaincy earned him the title of Player of the Match.
Gujarat now leads the points standings with eight victories from 11 games. Mumbai, meanwhile, is in fourth place with seven wins in 11 games.
Having said that, let’s examine three instances from the game that caused excitement among the supporters:
1. Jasprit Bumrah Nails a Perfect Delivery to End Gill’s Innings

MI quick Jasprit Bumrah bowled an outstanding 4-0-19-2 session, demonstrating his class once again. He dismissed the well-established Shubman Gill in the fifteenth over, giving his team a huge breakthrough.
GT needed to take eight wickets and score 49 runs off 36 balls before the rain stopped. After the game restarted, Bumrah scored immediately, destroying Gill with a stunning delivery.
In addition to Bumrah hitting the nice length region, there was inward movement following delivery. The delivery utterly undid Gill. After striking his pad, the ball crashed into the stumps.

Many fans took notice of the second six. The delivery from Prasidh was lengthy. After attempting the reverse sweep, Bosch was able to get the ball over the third-man fence and score a maximum.
