On Day 5 of Team India’s fifth and final Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test against England at The Oval in London, bowler Mohammed Siraj bowled an amazing performance. He took three wickets on the penultimate day, bringing his total to a staggering five for the innings.
A close-fought Day 5 was expected, with England needing 35 runs to win and India four wickets away from victory. Siraj struck with his first over, removing the threatening Jamie Smith.
He finally disposed of Jamie Overton and Gus Atkinson, and ended up with unbelievable figures of 30.1-6-104-5. In their must-win game, the 31 year-old played with the ball and proceeded to take nine wickets in two innings.
The bowling exploits of Siraj gave India a victory as the bowler sent the English back to the pavilion on a modest 367 and the win was achieved in a six-run thriller. India was astounding in save-or-perish match. The series of games ended in a draw and the score board showed the 2-2 result of the hard tour.

Siraj was the leader of India pace in the absence of leader Jasprit Bumrah. The fast bowler of the right arm had the immense support and praises on the social media due to his bold attempt.

It is worth noting that Mohammed Siraj was an incredible workhorse for India during the visit. He played in all five Tests, bowling a total of 185.3 overs. He finished the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as the leading wicket-taker, with 23 wickets in nine innings.
Shubman Gill Lauds Mohammed Siraj’s Impact in Series-Deciding Test

Shubman Gill, Team India’s captain, described Mohammed Siraj as a “captain’s dream”. The seamer’s bowling performances helped the visitors secure a key victory and escape a series defeat.
On the fifth day, the English batsmen struggled to counter Siraj, who took full advantage of the conditions. He was named Player of the Match for his efforts.
Gill stated during the post-match presentation (via Cricbuzz):
“He (Mohammed Siraj) is a captain’s dream. Coming in five Test matches, every ball, every spell that he bowled gave his all out and every captain, every team wants a player like him. We are very fortunate to have him in that team.”
