In the last Test match at Lord’s Cricket Ground, there was a great deal of resentment between the two teams. On Day 3, visiting captain Shubman Gill said Zak Crawley was a waste of time.
Siraj was fined 15% of his match fees and given one demerit point for his heated celebration after dismissing Duckett on Day 4 at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The 31-year-old might therefore be reluctant to go over the line once more.

The Hyderabad cricketer bowled enthusiastically on Day 2 in Manchester as he has done all through the series. His bowling statistics, however, left much to be desired, since he did not take any wickets after conceding 58 runs on 10 overs and he was unable to reduce the scoring rate. Conversely, Ben Duckett put on a brilliant 94 runs to lead a brilliant 166 run opening partnership with Zak Crawley in less than 31 overs.
Although both England openers missed out on well-deserved hundreds, their massive partnership enabled the hosts reach 225/2 at stumps. On Day 3, they are only 133 runs behind. India dragged themselves to 358 after starting Day 2 at 264/4. Rishabh Pant’s decision to bat despite sustaining a severe toe injury on the first day was the turning point in the visitors’ innings.

As Ben Stokes took a fifer to bowl India out for 358, he chipped in with 54 and Shardul Thakur added 41 runs to the total. Anshul Kamboj and Ravindra Jadeja took wickets for India in their maiden appearances.
