Punjab Kings (PBKS) achieved their second IPL 2025 victory after defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Lucky Cricket Ground (short name Ekana Cricket Stadium) in Lucknow. The team accomplished the eight-wicket victory through Shreyas Iyer who scored 52 runs off 30 balls along with Nehal Wadhera who kept batting until he made 43 without being out from 35 balls.
Wadhera spoke candidly about the game after the contest, stating that he was only told about it late. The athlete said that although he had only “one kit” and wasn’t well prepared, he wasn’t particularly anxious about the game.
“We needed this win as well, Shreyas bhai and all played really well, our bowlers bowled well and the way Prabhsimran batted was really good too. I didn’t feel much nerves but I didn’t know that I would be playing today so I had brought only one kit with me, later I got to know that I’m playing today. When I went into bat, I wanted to play my shots and take my chances.”

“The way Shreyas has been captaining the side it has been great, the way he told me to play my natural game and go with the flow of the game, it’s great. The experience which I gained in these last two years, I wanted to showcase my experience here with Punjab. That’s how I have been preparing.”

Ponting is one of the best coaches: Nehal Wadhera

Nehal Wadhera scored the winning run against LSG and went on to commend head coach Ricky Ponting for his support of the team. The team has been led by Ponting, who has a wealth of experience in the sport, and the results are evident on the field.
“He is one of the best coaches I have worked under, I have never heard a negative word from Ricky Ponting till now. He only talks positive things, when a coach gives such remarks, it boosts your confidence.”
