BCCI is someone everyone loves to hate, but credit where due. A friend at Dharamshala explains how smartly they handled the evacuation. Well done @BCCI @IPL https://t.co/gW4ffyjqUY pic.twitter.com/rAfMfJBuUF

PBKS-DC match called off due to floodlight failure at Dharamshala

The HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala experienced a floodlight failure, forcing the cancellation of the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 match. Two of the venue’s towers failed, forcing the players to evacuate the field while the hosts were 122/1 in 10.1 overs.
Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, the opening pair for PBKS, dominated the DC attack, confirming Shreyas Iyer’s choice to win the toss and choose to bat first. T Natarajan dismissed the latter for 70 off 34 balls with a slower ball.
Nearly 30 minutes after the venue’s floodlights failed, the game was canceled.
The match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Lucknow on Friday, May 9, will proceed as planned, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal told news agency PTI.

Due to logistical issues, PBKS’ third game against the Mumbai Indians was rescheduled from the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 11. On Sunday, May 11, DC will play the Gujarat Titans in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
