Indian players achieved upward mobility in the International Cricket Council rankings because of their successful run in Champions Trophy 2025. Rohit Sharma achieved third position following his 83-ball 76 score which earned him Player of the Match (POTM) in the tournament finale.
Virat Kohli rose to sixth place in the tournament with 218 runs. During India’s Champions Trophy, only Shreyas Iyer managed to retain his Po.8 ranking as he scored at least 40 runs in every match including the opening game against Bangladesh
The current ranking list positions Kuldeep Yadav at position number three. Among all the all-rounders and Star Ravindra Jadeja takes rank number ten thanks to his impressive 4.35 economy rate.
ICC Rankings Update: New Zealand Makes Impressive Progress

India was not the only team to rise in the rankings. Impressive progress was also made by a number of players from New Zealand, the runners-up in the ninth edition of the just finished 50-over tournament. Due to a string of outstanding ball-handling performances, Mitchell Santner, the captain of the BlackCaps, shot up six spots to second place in the ODI bowlers’ rankings.
The ODI all-rounders ranking sees Michael Bracewell achieve seventh position while Mitchell Santner holds the fourth spot. During the Champions Trophy, Bracewell attained the position of New Zealand’s second-best wicket-taker. During the Champions Trophy final in Dubai, the 34-year-old player scored a solid 53 from 40 balls, showcasing his batting potential.

Rachin Ravindra was the edition’s top run scorer with 263 runs in four innings, earning him Player of the Tournament. He rose eight spots to eighth in the all-rounders’ rankings and fourteen spots to fourteenth in the ODI batters’ rankings thanks to his outstanding performances.
All the cricket players mentioned above, except Bracewell, will be traveling to India for IPL matches with their assigned teams. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) together with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will begin their IPL competition on March 22.
