The 41st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be played between the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Mumbai Indians (MI). The game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23 at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
SRH’s IPL 2025 campaign has been dreadful thus far. They have four points and have only won two of their last seven games. They are now in ninth place in the points standings, one position higher than the Chennai Super Kings, who are in last place.
MI, on the other side, will want to maintain their momentum after winning three straight games. With eight points from as many games, they are currently ranked sixth in the rankings; a victory tonight might put them in the running for the playoffs.
The IPL match between SRH and MI will feature some intriguing matchups because a few players who are currently playing well will be facing off against one another. In light of this, we examine three player fights that have the potential to shape the forthcoming competition.
1. Rohit Sharma vs Pat Cummins

The former MI captain declared his comeback to form against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with an undefeated 76-run victory. The five-time champs are encouraged by this as they aim to contend for a postseason berth.
However, Pat Cummins of SRH might put up a fierce fight against Rohit Sharma. In the shortest format, the Australian all-rounder has dismissed him five times in 57 deliveries, including during their match earlier this season.
This duel might be thrilling to witness, and it might even have a big effect on how the game turns out.
2. Abhishek Sharma vs Trent Boult

In SRH’s last two games, the young opener showed off his abilities by hammering 141 and 40 runs, respectively. As his team attempts to recover from the loss in the previous game, Abhishek Sharma will try to maintain his outstanding play.
However, veteran MI pacer Trent Boult can cause problems for the left-handed batter. Despite taking just two wickets in the powerplay so far this season, Boult has a strong record against Abhishek. In 29 T20 deliveries, the youthful player has been removed twice by the left-arm pacer.
SRH has lost most of their games when the batter is removed during the powerplay, so if Boult can get the valuable scalp of Abhishek early, MI will have half the job done.
3. Suryakumar Yadav vs Zeesan Ansari

Rohit Sharma received excellent support from Suryakumar Yadav who contributed an unbeaten score of 68 runs during their encounter against CSK. Mumbai needs his batting form to keep their winning streak alive.
Leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari makes his first appearance in the IPL as he secures four wickets during his five matches. Zeeshan creates difficulties for Suryakumar by making the ball move away from batters when he bowls during the middle of the innings.
