India recently won the Champions Trophy for the first time in twelve years, thanks in large part to the renowned Virat Kohli. For the 18th consecutive season, he will play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025).
After helping India win the T20 World Cup in June last year, Kohli announced his retirement from T20I cricket. The Delhi batsman did, however, recently discuss a situation in which he would play just one match in the shortest format again.
The United States of America will organize the 2028 Olympic competition in Los Angeles. Cricket returns to the Olympic competition after a 128-year hiatus. The former Indian captain declared he would return from retirement to compete in Olympic finals since an Olympic medal would beautify his remarkable collection of trophies.
“If India reaches the Olympics final in 2028, might just think of coming out of retirement for that one match. Winning an Olympic medal would be magnificent,” Kohli said on the sidelines of Innovation Lab Indian Sports summit.

The 36-year-old is still among the world’s fittest cricket players. Kohli wasn’t one of the most athletic players in Indian cricket when he first appeared on the scene, though. Speaking about what motivated him to start this fitness journey, Kohli stated that he realized increasing his level of fitness would enable him to succeed more on the field. But the right-handed batter had to convince his mother that he wasn’t getting sick from his training regimen.
“My transformations came after a few tough tours when I saw the guys lasting on the field longer than us. From the team point of view things were not tough but convincing my mum was tough. She thought I was looking sick. I told her that the world is talking about my training methods and I am not sick. I felt that I was able to do things much better.”

He will like to win an elusive first IPL championship with the Bengaluru-based squad after assisting his team in winning the Champions Trophy earlier this month.
