Stokes did play an crucial role with bat, but in middle he had faced lot of pressure. Earlier in the day, he got a good crunch on the box which made him suffering on that bit for a bit.

On the third ball of the 91st over from Mohammed Siraj, just after the second new ball was taken, Stokes was hit by a back-of-length delivery that nipped back in. Later, he had to walk off the field after the 116th over because of cramps. He was seen limping as he made his way up the stairs to the dressing room.
But the best batsmen of the day are the ones who do not accept defeat but come back to bat later on; Ben Stokes, who was on 66 when he stepped off came in again after the seventh wicket fell and added 11 runs to his score.
