Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer was ‘clean bowled’ by his mother while playing in his home’s living room. From where the video was shot, Iyer’s mother was bowling to her son.
Several accounts shared the video on their feed, including Iyer’s current Indian Premier League team, the Punjab Kings. “Only time SARPANCH won’t mind getting bowled! 😂♥️” was the clever caption that went with the video.

Shreyas Iyer’s mother ‘clean bowled’ her son during a lighthearted living room combat. The Sarpanch (village leader), as referred to by PBKS’s devoted supporters, was directly referenced in the caption as not being upset after being bowled for once. The video’s comments area has seen a lot of interaction, with the majority of the parents praising Iyer’s mother’s enthusiasm for the game.

Shreyas Iyer had an incredible IPL 2025 season with PBKS. There were high expectations for him after he was purchased at the big auction for INR 26.75 crore. After leading the squad to a top-of-the-table finish and into their first final since 2014, the high-profile acquisition did not let anyone down. It was not to be for PBKS, though, as they lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final match and ultimately finished as runners-up. Iyer scored six fifties throughout his incredible 604-run performance, peaking at 175.07.
Regarding his international prospects, his omission from the 18-man Indian squad for the ongoing tour of England sparked considerable buzz within the cricket community. Notwithstanding his impressive IPL display and steady showings for Mumbai in both formats of the domestic circuit, he was still overlooked. Yet BCCI chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, insisted that no slots in the team were currently available for the Mumbai batter.
