On Monday, July 21, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released an official report on the progress regarding the injuries of Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm seamer, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, the all-rounder. Arshdeep sustained an impact injury to his thumb, which is now swollen, on the left hand during one of his training sessions at the weekend on July 17, at his training ground located at Beckenham in the UK.
As a result, he will miss the fourth Test against England, which begins on Wednesday, July 23, at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

In the meantime, rumors circulated on Sunday, July 20, that Nitish Kumar Reddy had been hurt while working out. The 22-year-old will return home after being ruled out of the rest of the series owing to a left knee injury, the board stated.
At Edgbaston, Reddy had a miserable performance, taking no wickets and managing just two runs in two innings. At Lord’s, he did, however, display some promise, returning bowling figures of 2/62 and 1/20 in the third Test and scoring 30 and 13.

India Target First Ever Test Win at Manchester

Team India will be eager to recover from their defeat at Lord’s as they prepare for the fourth Test in Manchester. The location hasn’t been a nice hunting ground for the guests, though. They have yet to record a victory at the legendary stadium after playing nine Test matches there, losing four and drawing five.
In the previous visits to Manchester, the visitors lost the game by an innings and 54 runs way back in 2014. With a new skipper on the batting order now, Shubman Gill, the team will be hoping to turn the pages of history, much like they did in Edgbaston and draw the series all square at 2-2 before flying to the final Test at Kennington Oval in London.
