Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan delivered a crucial knock in his team’s IPL 2025 Eliminator match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. GT had to chase an intimidating 229-run goal in the knockout match, so it was up to the southpaw to fire.
Sai Sudharsan delivered big in the high-pressure match, scoring his sixth half-century of the season. The 23-year-old played some amazing strokes while he was at the crease, countering the MI bowlers with remarkable skill.
He hit 80 runs off 49 deliveries with 10 fours and a six. But after the youngster was dismissed, his dismissal saw the pendulum swung firmly in MI’s favour.

He was lost to a Richard Gleeson ball that he tried to play the ramp shot while getting bowled in the 16th over. In social media, he got a lot of praise for his brilliant performance.

Sai Sudharsan’s brilliant knock not enough as Gujarat Titans lose by 20 runs

Sai Sudharsan’s knock was insufficient to propel GT across the finish line in the crucial match. He knocked stunningly, giving his team hope. Washington Sundar also made a significant effort, contributing 48 out of 24 deliveries.
But in the end, the Gujarat based side failed to get over the line and fell short by 20 runs. In 20 overs, they were 208/6. The defeat eliminates Shubman Gill led side from the competition.

Now MI will play Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on Sunday, June 1. After this match, the winner will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final at the same venue on Tuesday, June 3.
