The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on Saturday, May 17, according to a recent press announcement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This comes following in-depth discussions with the Indian government and all of the tournament’s major stakeholders.
In all, 17 matches will be played in six venues from the given date. The IPL 2025 final is to be played Tuesday, June 3. The modified schedule has a few double headers with one of them scheduled for two Saturdays, while the other will take place on two Sundays.

The itinerary for the playoffs is as follows:
Qualifier 1: May 29
Eliminator: May 30
Qualifier 2: June 1
Final: June 3
The specific venues for playoffs will be announced in the short term. Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad will be the cities hosting the rest of the league games. The fixtures at the group stage will be drawn to a close on Tuesday, May 27.
