The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made the decision to immediately halt the remaining IPL 2025 games for a week. Following a thorough analysis of the situation in cooperation with pertinent authorities and stakeholders, more information about the tournament’s revised schedule and locations will be released when it is ready.
The decision was made by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders, including representations from the majority of franchisees, who conveyed their players’ concerns and sentiments, as well as the views of the broadcaster, sponsors, and fans; while the BCCI has complete faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board believed it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders.

The BCCI is steadfastly supporting the country at this crucial moment. We show our support for the Indian government, the armed forces, and the nation’s citizens. As they lead a resolute reaction to the horrific terrorist assault and the unjustified aggression by Pakistan’s armed forces, the Board honors the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces, whose courageous actions under Operation Sindoor continue to defend and inspire the nation.
Nothing is more important than the nation and its sovereignty, integrity, and security, even though cricket is still a national passion. The BCCI is steadfast in its resolve to back any initiative that protects India and will always base its choices on what is best for the country.

The BCCI thanks a key stakeholder to it – JioStar, the official broadcaster of the league – for the understanding and consistency of support shown. The Board is particularly grateful to Title sponsor and all associate partners and stakeholders that have come forward with their unequivocal support for this decision and that have put national interest above all other considerations.
