The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 26th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The first game of Saturday’s doubleheader will take place at Lucknow’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
LSG has three victories from five games, which puts them in the center of the points standings. Their NRR is +0.078 and they have six points. They will want to win three straight games after winning their past two.
Conversely, GT has the top position in the rankings. The Titans have won four games in a row after dropping their tournament opener. With five games played, they presently have eight points and an NRR of +1.413. Gujarat will try to maintain their winning streak and solidify their lead in the standings.
There are certain players on both teams who are playing well, and there are some intriguing games. Having said that, let’s examine three player clashes to be aware of.
1. Nicholas Pooran vs Rashid Khan

This season, the LSG batsman-wicketkeeper has been playing at an incredible level. With 288 runs from five games at an average of 72 and a strike rate of 225, he is now the best scorer.
Rashid Khan, on the other hand, has had a mediocre start to the IPL 2025 season, but he had some flashes of form in the most recent match, scoring 2/37 against the Rajasthan Royals.
Rashid might be the best guy to halt the aggressive West Indian, even with Pooran’s skill at six-hitting. Since 2022, the top leg spinner has only given up 77 runs in Twenty20 matches and dismissed him twice in 66 deliveries (via Cricbuzz).
2. Shubman Gill vs Avesh Khan

In the lucrative league this year, the GT captain has been hot and cold thus far. He has scored 148 runs in five games, including a half-century, but has not been able to build on his strong starts.
Conversely, Avesh Khan has appeared in rhythm since recovering from his injury. Gill might be troubled by the right-arm pacer’s impressive performance with the new ball.
Since 2022, Avesh has dismissed Gill twice in Twenty20 cricket, giving up runs at a strike rate of nearly 110 (source: Cricbuzz).
3. Mitchell Marsh vs Mohammed Siraj

Mitchell Marsh, the opening batsman for LSG, has been in outstanding form this season and has given the club strong starts. In five games, the Australian all-rounder has amassed 265 runs with a strike rate of 180.27 and an average of 53.
However, Mohammed Siraj has been quite effective with the new ball, taking 10 wickets at an economy rate of 7.70 in five games. The outcome of the match may be greatly influenced by his confrontation with Marsh during the powerplay.
