The IPL 2025 season gets started on Saturday, May 17, when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) square off at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. On March 22, the competition began with the same two teams at the storied Eden Gardens, which RCB won by a commanding seven-wicket score.
The outcome of the first game sort of set the tone for both teams. The reason KKR has failed more frequently than not is because RCB has been getting stronger. Bengaluru has 16 points from 11 games and needs just one more victory to guarantee a spot in the playoffs. Kolkata, on the other side, has 11 points from 12 games. They are unlikely to guarantee themselves a spot in the top four even if they win their remaining games.

Bengaluru has won four straight games, which is outstanding. They have really won five of their last six games. It has been some time since they have played cricket, though, and it is unclear if they will be able to maintain their winning streak.
In the head-to-head match, KKR leads RCB by a score of 20 to 15. We look at various goals that players from both teams can accomplish before Bengaluru and Kolkata play at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
