Rishabh Pant of India leaves the field after injuring his right leg during Day 1 of the Fourth Rothesay Test match

India ran into trouble on the first day of the fourth Test against England. Rishabh Pant got hurt and had to leave the field. The game is at Old Trafford in Manchester. Fans felt bad about it and posted their concerns online everywhere.

Pant tried a reverse sweep against Chris Woakes on the fourth ball of the 69th over. The ball hit his right foot, and he could hardly walk after that. They took the Indian player off the field in an ambulance. It looks like he might not bat again in this Test because the injury seems serious. Remember, India is already down 1-2 in the series.

This is a major setback for India, as the Manchester Test is a must-win. If the visitors are short on batters, they will face even more strain.

“That Pant run out last game was the turning point of this series and this Pant injury today has most probably sealed the series in favour of England…,” a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Pant has been in excellent form with the bat this series. He has played an important role for the visitors in his position at number five. His attitude and offensive batting have frequently placed pressure on the opposition.

“I hope it’s not a serious injury. Right now, he is the backbone of India’s batting lineup. Get well soon, Rishabh Pant 🙌,” another user tweeted.

Several fans have wished for the speedy recovery of the batter and his return.

The BCCI medical team is watching his condition closely. We won’t know how bad the injury is until the scan results are out. It’s unclear if he can play more in this match or the series. Before he left the field, he was not out on 37 runs from 48 balls, with two fours and one six.

India wrapped up the day at 264 for 4. Ravindra Jadeja was on 19 and Shardul Thakur on 19, both still at the crease and not out.
