Sunil Gavaskar is renowned for speaking honestly and calling a spade a spade. Despite his advanced age of 75, he never lacks vigor or excitement when providing comments. Among the most ardent supporters of Indian cricket is Sunil Gavaskar.
Sunil Gavaskar is frequently in the spotlight due to his honest perspectives on the sport. However, before accepting remarks that are ascribed to him, particularly by individual accounts and certain sports websites, cricket fans should confirm and perform some fact-checking, the former captain of India said.
“Over the last few months, it’s come to my notice that a lot of sports websites and individual accounts have been attributing comments and quotes to me which I have never made. I request everybody to verify, fact-check and not to believe everything that they read. Particularly coming from some of these individual accounts and sports websites. God bless you all,” Gavaskar said in a video he posted on his official Instagram account.
“Please verify before believing quotes attributed to me,” the cricketer-turned-commentator wrote in the caption of his post.

Sunil Gavaskar is currently commentating on the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England. Cricket fans were moved by his jubilation when Rishabh Pant hit a century in the second innings of the first Test match at Headingley, Leeds. Gavaskar was hoping to witness Pant’s signature somersault celebration. The wicketkeeper-batter, however, put everything on hold in order to concentrate on strengthening India’s position.
Unluckily, Pant, who got a century in the first innings, ended on a losing stage when England undertook a 371-run goal with five wickets to spare. The 2 nd Test will start on Wednesday, July 2, Edgbaston, Birmingham.
