Jasprit Bumrah, a Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer, chuckled off a fan’s comment about his teammate Reece Topley ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against the SunRisers Hyderabad. The tournament’s 33rd match between the two sides is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Following MI’s practice on Tuesday, April 15, supporters swarmed behind the vehicle that was transporting Bumrah and Topley. Bumrah laughed when one of the supporters made a funny remark. Through X, the fan stated:
“Oh Topley bhai, you want chai (tea)? You need Mumbai chai?”

MI currently sits seventh on the points table with four points from six matches, whereas SRH is ninth with the same points but a worse net run rate.

When comparing the two teams’ head-to-head record, they have played each other 23 times, with Mumbai winning 13 of those meetings and Hyderabad winning 10.
The sides have faced off eight times at the Wankhede Stadium, with MI winning six of them and SRH winning two. MI won by seven wickets in their most recent encounter at Wankhede in the 2024 season.
MI defeated Delhi Capitals in their previous IPL 2025 game

The Mumbai Indians took the field against Delhi Capitals during Sunday April 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Main operations commenced after MI received the bat in their first innings and scored 205/5 during their allotted 20 overs as smart batter Tilak Varma produced a fantastic 59 runs from 33 balls with six boundaries and three heroic hits.
The match proved successful for MI because Rickelton scored 41 runs in 25 balls and Yadav reached 40 in 28 balls while Dhir remained not out at 38 with 17 balls. Two wickets belonged to Delhi Capitals bowlers Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam during the match.
DC immediately lost Jake Fraser-McGurk to the first delivery of the match. During their second wicket partnership Abishek Porel (33) along with Karun Nair produced a 119-run alliance from 61 delivered balls. The superb batting performance of Nair produced 89 runs from his 40 balls with 12 four and five six hits which helped Delhi reach 140 for three wickets in 12 overs.

After Karun Nair’s dismissal a sudden collapse destroyed Delhi’s innings which resulted in them getting out for 193 runs through twelve runs short. Karn Sharma delivered the best bowling performance for MI as he secured three wickets throughout the match.
