The Indian cricket captain along with being one of the top national batsmen gained recognition through his dynamic approach and energetic spirit while playing. Kohli shows dedication to both his individual achievements along with genuine happiness for what others accomplish.
It’s interesting to note that he was keen to pick up tips from his “forever leader” and best buddy, MS Dhoni, even though he was still the vice-captain of the Indian national cricket team. Kohli never hesitated to keep his head up and make decisions on the field, even in those days. His friendship with the previous world champion captain was so strong that he never hesitated to make suggestions about field placements and devise plans to get the opposition out.
Even more amazing is the fact that Dhoni, who held the reins on the field with his characteristic coolness, always gave his players a voice and recognized the potential leadership talent Kohli possessed.

Notably, the legend from Almora had long recognized that Team India required a new leader as they were going through a transitional phase. As a result, he mentored Kohli and assisted him in developing into a future captain. The iconic number 18 Virat Kohli recently revealed that he may have appeared to MS Dhoni to be a “crazy” boy because of the way he advised field placements and other things during an RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) game.
“When I was the vice-captain of India, I was always in MSD’s ears, suggesting field placements—telling him, ‘We can have a fielder here or there.’ He must have thought I was crazy!” Kohli said during the RCB Innovation Lab’s Indian sports summit.
Virat Kohli Unsure About Life After Retirement

In addition, Virat Kohli was questioned about his post-retirement plans at the same event. The Indian stalwart responded to this by saying that he was still working things out and had not yet developed a strategy. He also disclosed that, despite talking with one of his colleagues, neither of them had any firm plans for anything other than playing cricket for the national team. He did not, however, hesitate to acknowledge his passion for international travel.
“I actually don’t know what I will be doing post-retirement. Recently, I asked a teammate the same question and got the same reply. Yeah, but maybe a lot of travelling.”
