During the IPL 2025 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday (April 6), Glenn Phillips, an all-rounder for the Gujarat Titans (GT) and New Zealand, appeared to sustain a major groin injury while fielding against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Following his recovery, Phillips was shown hobbling and groaning in agony in a video that went viral on social media.
Ishan Kishan hit a delivery from Prasidh Krishna for a single during the sixth over of the innings. Being an athletic fielder, Phillips attempted to get the ball out of his reach as quickly as possible, but the jump could have caused harm. A support staff member and another Titans player had to assist the 28-year-old off the field after he fell.

Phillips, who played for the SunRisers the season before, was purchased by the Titans for ₹2 crore at the auction held in advance of the 2025 season. Probably used as a substitute fielder, he hasn’t played yet this season.
Mohammed Siraj Shines with 4-Wicket Haul as SRH Struggles to Set a Modest Total

On Sunday in Hyderabad, Titans quick Mohammed Siraj, who took three wickets against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) the other night and was superb, added four more to his total. The home team was placed under strain early on by the Hyderabad-born cricketer, who dismissed Travis Head (8) and Abhishek Sharma (18).
Later, he came back to dismiss Simarjeet Singh and Aniket Verma, recording his best IPL results of 4-0-17-4. Nitish Kumar Reddy was the most impressive batsman for SRH with 31 off 34 balls on what appeared to be a slow surface. The crucial 22 from nine deliveries from their captain Pat Cummins helped SRH to 152/8.
