The discard Deepak Chahar, Indian team pacer was photographed with the team on the eve of the decisive fifth and final contest against England that gets underway tomorrow July 31 at the Oval. He was in the Indian dugout even though he was not using their formal training outfit though he is aged 32.
Several of Team India’s pacers have been injured during the ongoing England series. While Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh were ruled out of the previous Test in Manchester and remain doubtful for the series finale, Jasprit Bumrah is expected to miss the Oval Test due to fitness issues.

They called up Anshul Kamboj for the fourth Test, and the right-arm bowler made an early impact in the drew match.

Despite his presence in the team, Chahar is not included in the Indian squad for the final Test. The visitors trail the best-of-five series 1-2 and must win the last game to prevent a series loss.

Deepak Chahar has no experience of playing a Test match in India, but he has many white-ball matches in his history. But his final international match with the team was during the T20I series at home against Australia, which ended in the year 2023.
India has not had a right arm bowler, play an ODI since the end of the 2022 tour to Bangladesh. Chahar has taken 47 wickets across 25 T20Is and 13 ODIs to his credit.

He played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2025 season, having previously been with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from 2018 to 2024. Chahar, known for his injury troubles, impressed with his fitness for MI in the IPL 2025, appearing in 14 matches.
