On Monday, May 19, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, in IPL 2025 match 61. With an incredible six-wicket triumph, SRH set a new record for the most successful chase at the venue.
LSG was batting first, and they started off really well. Openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram racked up superb half-centuries, scoring 65 (39 balls) and 61 (38 balls), respectively.
Nicholas Pooran contributed as well, scoring 45 runs off of 26 balls in a flash. But no other batsman was able to reach double figures, and after 20 overs, the team was at 205/7.
Eshan Malinga, who finished with statistics of 4-0-28-2, was the best bowler for the SRH. Abhishek Sharma’s spectacular batting performances throughout the run chase were the highlight of the event. The southpaw, who scored 59 runs off of only 20 balls, gave Hyderabad a strong start.
Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 47 runs off of 28 deliveries, also had a significant influence. For LSG, Digvesh Rathi took two wickets. Luckow was eliminated from contention for the IPL 2025 playoffs when SRH chased the goal in 18.2 overs.
SRH is currently ranked eighth in the standings with nine points after 12 games. In contrast, Lucknow is ranked seventh with 10 points from 12 games.

Rishabh Pant, the captain of LSG, suffered yet another batting setback, adding to his miserable record. During his brief stint at the crease, the keeper-batter managed just seven runs off six balls.
On the last delivery of the 12th over, Eshan Malinga made a brilliant return catch, and he was bowled out caught. This is a video of Pant being fired:

LSG paid an incredible ₹27 crore to sign Pant at the IPL 2025 mega auction. He became the most costly player in the history of the auction as a result of the deal. But for him, the season has been forgettable. At an average of 12.27 runs per 11 innings, the dynamic batter has only managed to score 135 runs.
3. Harshal Patel Strikes with Brilliant Slow Yorker to Dismiss Aiden Markram
SRH seamer Harshal Patel’s brilliant change of pace delivery outwitted LSG opener Aiden Markam. In the 16th over, he sent the half-centurion back to the pavilion, giving his team a huge breakthrough.
