Delhi Capitals (DC) have started their home game against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 39 of the IPL 2026 in the worst possible manner.
After 10 overs in the first innings, Axar Patel’s men were struggling at 46 for the loss of seven wickets. The home side had a disastrous collapse in the early part of the match, losing six wickets for eight runs in the fourth over.
This was initiated by the new ball pair of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. The Indian bowled Sahil Parakh in the second ball of the first over. His work was continued by Hazlewood in the following over.

The Australian was on a hat-trick after dismissing Sameer Rizvi and KL Rahul in the opening two deliveries of the match. Bhuvneshwar then had the opportunity to claim two wickets in a single over.
The 36-year-old was bowling his second over when he got the wickets of Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel. Hazlewood was back to bowl the next over, claiming the wicket of Nitish Rana. The left-hander was dismissed when DC were at 8 for 6.
The next batter, David Miller, looked to shore up the innings, hitting 19 runs off 18 balls, but was dismissed by Rasikh Salam Dar for 43 for seven.

Delhi Capitals fans on social platform X (formerly Twitter) posted an array of memes and reactions to the Capitals’ collapse against RCB at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
