MI London, formerly known as the Oval Invincibles, have confirmed their pre-auction signings and named Sam Curran captain ahead of The Hundred 2026, recognizing him for his continuous all-round performance in leagues around the world. Will Jacks will also continue to work for the franchise.
MI London has already secured the services of Danni Wyatt-Hodge as one of their marquee players for The Hundred Women’s tournament before the next player draft. After several rebrandings in the 2026 offseason, all the teams were allowed to retain a maximum of four players before the draft auctions, which are planned for March 2026.
Curran takes over as new captain after Sam Billings lead the team to three consecutive championships from 2023 to 2025. Jacks, who has been with the squad since the first 2021 season, is still the franchise’s all-time leading run scorer. MI London has also signed former Southern Brave Women’s player Wyatt-Hodge for the next season, adding to their roster ahead of the auctions.
“In Sam and Will, we have signed two of the best English white-ball cricketers there are. Danni is a fan favourite in south London with her performances for Surrey and England and has already tasted success at the Kia Oval. She’s been prolific in The Hundred and is one of the most exciting players in the game,” said the MI London chairman Oli Slipper.
And as MI London gear up for 2026 with some makeovers, including team takeovers and player auctions, they will have a chance to proclaim themselves as the rulers of The Hundred.” The franchise is already the most successful side in the history of the tournament, having won three men’s and two women’s crowns.
The men’s team, formerly Oval Invincibles, played 42 matches and lost just 28 of them // The former captain is unlikely to be kept on via the auction. Wyatt-Hodge is the second leading run scorer in the Women, and Jacks third in the Men. He’s a fine all-rounder, who has scored 757 runs in 32 innings at SR of 150,49 to go with his 45 wickets from 36 innings.
