The captain of the Indian team that won World Cup 2025, Harmanpreet Kaur, will again play in the Women Premier league (WPL) 2026 season with the Mumbai Indians (MI). She has been held for 2.5 crore in advance of the sale.
MI WPL also has Harmanpreet Kaur as its captain. They have been champions of the title twice in the three editions that have been conducted so far. In the first season of 2023 and again in 2025 she took them to win. They also happen to be the defending champions.
Rohit Sharma on the other hand started his IPL career with a now-defunct team of Deccan Chargers in 2008. He became a part of MI in 2011 and has been with the franchise since then. They also won five titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 led by Rohit. He has contributed to it a great deal in making it one of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL.
With this, we shall break down the figures of Harmanpreet Kaur and Rohit Sharma after their debut 27 games at MI (in the WPL and IPL, respectively).
1. Most Runs

Harmanpreet Kaur is the captain of MI in the three WPL editions. She has played 27 games and scored 851 runs within 26 innings. The win on the title was her best showing in the 2025 season. She had a total score of 302 out of ten matches.
Rohit Sharma, as stated above, made his MI debut during the IPL back in 2011. He has appeared 227 times in the team and has made 5876 points. During the 24 innings of his first 27 games in IPL with MI, he made 665 runs.
2. Average and Strike Rate

Harmanpreet Kaur has been averaging 40.52 in her 27 WPL matches, so far. She has scored an impressive 143.50 strike-rate in her runs.
Rohit Sharma has an average of 29.53 and a strike-rate of 132.22 in his 227 matches in MI in the IPL. In the 27 matches that he played in the league with the franchise he averaged 33.25 and had a strike-rate of 126.42.
3. Most 50-plus scores

Harmanpreet Kaur has hit eight half-centuries in her WPL career up to date. She does not have a century. The highest score she made was in the 2024 season when she hit an unbeaten 48-ball 95 against Gujarat Giants (GG). The knock consisted of 10 fours and five maxiums.
Rohit Sharma on the other hand has two hundred and 39 half-centuries in IPL with MI. During his first 27 matches with them in the league he hit six half-centuries. His highest score in the stage was a 48 ball 87 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Harmanpreet Kaur has played 19 out of the 27 matches it has against MI. In these victories she has made 680 runs at an average of 52.31 and a strike-rate of 150.44. Her eight half-centuries in the WPL have been all in a winning cause.
In the meantime, MI had won 16 of the first 27 matches of Rohit Sharma playing on their behalf in the IPL. He had made 528 runs in these wins with an average of 52.8 and strike rate of 134.01. During this stage, Rohit had five half-centuries in winning cause.
