Pratika Rawal, an opener of team India, provided a big scare to the fans when she got injured during the Women world cup 2025 group stage match with Bangladesh, on Sunday, October 26. The accident occurred when she was fielding along the edge on the boundary of the innings of Bangladesh.
Sharmin Akhter struck the ball towards the mid-wicket in the 21st over that was bowled by Deepti Sharma. Pratika ran along the boundary to take the ball in his hand but estimated the direction of the ball. As she attempted to turn around she sprained her ankle and bumped incompositely to the ground and was in evident pain.
The health care personnel came as quickly as possible and a stretcher was carried to the field. Pratika was assisted and spotted talking with the physio at the sidelines. Her colleagues were observed to be concerned when she was being treated.

Indian team and fans are praying that it is not a serious injury because Pratika has been one of their major players who have been on the top of the order. India will play Australia in a semifinal that will be of high pressure on Thursday, October 30 at Navi Mumbai.

The young opener has performed well in the Women world cup 2025, and has been one of the most consistent performers of the team and has been instrumental in providing India with a good start at the top.
Pratika is now the second highest run-scorer in the tournament and her opening partner Smriti Mandhana is at atop. In 6 innings, she has already made 308 runs with a very good average of 51.33 with a single century and fifty.

Pratika had been in top form during the last match of India against New Zealand where she made a fantastic score of 122 out of 134 balls. She scored 13 fours and two sixes in her innings which helped India to make a good total and demonstrated her good form when faced with pressure.
