On Sunday, November 2, India Women defeated South Africa Women by 52 runs in Navi Mumbai and the entire country is celebrating their historical victory.

According to Hindustan Times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would receive Harmanpreet Kaur and her party on Wednesday in New Delhi. The source claims that the Prime Minister office (PMO) gave the BCCI a formal invitation on Monday.

The team now resides in Mumbai and shall depart on Tuesday night to Delhi. The players will get home following their encounter with the Prime Minister. Currently, there is no official plan of a winning team of the World Cup to have a victory ceremony and a parade. A final decision on the celebrations is expected after the ICC conference in Dubai in the coming few days. The Prime Minister had congratulated the Indian squad through social media in the past.

The team showed exceptional teamwork and tenacity throughout the tournament. Congratulations to our players. This historic win will motivate future champions to take up sports,” wrote Modi on X.

BCCI Announces ₹51 Crore Prize for India Women’s World Cup-Winning Team

Harmanpreet Kaur of India lifts the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup trophy after her team’s victory in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025 Final match

As of right now, the Indian women’s team that won the World Cup would receive a financial award of INR 51 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The players, support personnel, and selectors will split the money.

All the players along with the head coach Amol Muzumdar are reported to earn between INR 2.5 and3 crore each and the members of the support staff will earn between INR 25 and 30 lakh each. The exact distribution plan is yet to be planned.

Speaking of the match, Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma constructed the innings when Indian Women achieved a total of 298 runs in 50 overs. Laura Wolvaardt had the courage to reply with a century on behalf of South Africa but the five wickets of Deepti gave India the first ever ICC Women world cup.
