Royal Challengers Bengaluru is an Indian Premier League franchise owned by a renowned production company known as Hombale Films, which is reportedly interested in owning the franchise. There are a number of reputed investors interested in RCB in recent times.
It was earlier reported that the present owner Diageo India might dispose the franchise prior to the 19 th season in the IPL (IPL 2026). The manufacturers of blockbuster movies like K.G.F., Kantara, and Salaar are said to be seeking a new beginning.
According to Oneindia, Hombale has undertaken preliminary negotiations with Diageo, despite the fact that neither party has confirmed this officially. Hombale Films has previously collaborated with RCB. They’ve been RCB’s official digital partner since April 2023. They’ve also created numerous imaginative promotions, cinematic match teasers, and engagement efforts.
RCB, which ended their trophy drought in the 18th IPL season, saw their valuation jump to nearly USD 2 billion (roughly INR 17,000 crore). According to the article, Hombale Films, led by Vijay Kiragandur, is not the only company interested in acquiring RCB. Other potential purchasers include Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, the Adani Group, the JSW Group, Adar Poonawalla of Serum Institute, and Devyani International.
