Harbhajan Singh forecasted that Gujarat Titans (GT) rookie Gurnoor Brar will obtain numerous wickets during IPL 2025. The 24-year-old’s successful domestic season allowed Harbhajan to support that Gurnoor obtains enough speed to intimidate opposition batters.
At the IPL 2025 mega auction, Gurnoor was bought by GT for ₹1.30 crore. In December 2022, the Punjab pacer made his debut in the top division. He has taken 33 wickets at an average of 25.66 in 12 games thus far, including two four-fers and one five-fer. He took 26 wickets at an average of 20.30 in seven games during the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season.
Harbhajan identified Brar as one of the bowlers to keep an eye on in his analysis of the Gujarat Titans’ squad for the 2025 Indian Premier League. He stated in an interview with ESPNcricinfo:
“There is Gurnoor Brar. He is also brilliant. He had a very good season for Punjab. He is a very good bowler, is quick and is a bit seasoned now. The good thing is he needed someone like Ashish Nehra around him. Certain players need someone to put an arm around their shoulder, so Ashish Nehra is the right company for him. I think you’ll see him taking a lot of wickets. He’s got that pace.”

Harbhajan Singh Confident Glenn Phillips Can Match David Miller’s Impact for GT
In his analysis of the Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2025 roster, Harbhajan added that although the team may not have many well-known players, it does have a handful of standout players. Additionally, he supported the selection of Glenn Phillips, saying that he would be a suitable substitute for David Miller in the finishing position.
“All in all, I like the look of the team. There are no big superstars, but there is Gill, Buttler, Sai Sudharsan, Rashid Khan. All of them are proven performers. Glenn Phillips is a good replacement for David Miller as a finisher. According to me, it’s a strong team.”

GT won five and lost seven of its 14 games in the IPL 2024 season, finishing in a dismal eighth place. Their two games yielded no results. Gill has been kept on as captain for the 2025 edition in spite of his lackluster performances.
