Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian cricket player, has come under fire for his racist comments on England pacer Jofra Archer.
Currently commentating on the Indian Premier League (IPL) on JioHotstar, Harbhajan caused a stir when he likened the England bowler to a black cab in a live broadcast.
The event happened on Sunday during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Rajasthan Royals game. Archer was bowling to Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan in the 18th over of the first innings.
Harbhajan made the contentious comment that Archer’s meter was on the upper side, like to the meter of a London black taxi, after Klaasen blasted Archer for consecutive boundaries.
“London me kaali taxi ka meter tez bhaagta hai, aur yaha pe Archer sahab ka meter bhi tez bhaaga hai (Like the meter of London’s black taxis, Archer’s meter has also been on the higher side).”

Fans swiftly took to social media to voice their displeasure at the remark and call for his immediate removal from the commentary panel.
Racism at Peak 😂😂😂😂

Jofra Archer Sets Unwanted Record For Most Expensive Spell In IPL History

The expensive bowling figures Jofra Archer produced during the IPL have established his return as an unsuccessful effort.
During the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad the Rajasthan Royals suffered a 44-run defeat where Jofra Archer delivered four overs costing 76 runs while remaining wicketless.
Gujarat Titans right-armer Mohit Sharma set the IPL record for allowing the highest number of runs at 73 when he bowled his four overs to Delhi Capitals in the 2024 tournament.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad batters confidently maintained control of the game since its commencement on Sunday. Australian batsman Travis Head started the game by turning out 67 runs off 31 balls. SRH batters reached 286-6 when Ishan Kishan struck 106 runs while needing just 47 balls.
