Harshal Patel, a seamer for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), dismissed Ayush Badoni of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with a superb running catch. The incident happened on Thursday, March 27, during the sixth Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh’s scathing blows had LSG coasting home as they chased 191. But neither of them was able to lead the team home, so it was up to the middle-order hitters to get Lucknow over the finish line. Arriving at number five, Badoni looked impressive during his run-a-ball six, which included a boundary, but he was dismissed when attempting a big shot.

Adam Zampa made a googly, and the ball was ready to strike. Badoni attempted a slog sweep over the deep mid-wicket fielder after correctly predicting it. But the ball was dropping in a no man’s zone, and the right-handed batter could only get a top edge.
Stationed at deep midwicket, Harshal Patel rushed in and dove to take the ball just inches from the ground. The right-arm pacer caught the ball only inches above the ground thanks to excellent judgment.

The Super Giants managed to chase down 192 runs with five wickets and 23 balls remaining, but Harshal Patel’s attempt did not alter the outcome of the game. Mitchell Marsh struck another half-century to set up the victory, while Nicholas Pooran hammered a 70 off 26 balls, including six boundaries and as many maximums.
“It’s about going out there and making an impact” – SRH skipper Pat Cummins after defeat to LSG

Pat Cummins, the captain of SunRisers Hyderabad, emphasized that the loss does not particularly bother them. He emphasized that they will move on from this loss because the tournament is lengthy.
Speaking on Cricbuzz during the post-match presentation, SRH captain Cummins said:
“You always need one person to bat throughout the innings, like Ishan (Kishan) did the other day, but they bowled really well, never let us off the hook. We got 8 batters, it’s about going out there and making an impact. You see things you could have done better, that could have been the difference. It’s a long competition, we will get a chance pretty quickly, so we need to move on.”

SRH has now played two games, winning one and losing one. Their next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 30 in Visakhapatnam against the Delhi Capitals.
