On Wednesday, April 2, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will play IPL 2025 match number 14 at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. With two crushing victories, RCB has had a fantastic start to their IPL 2025 campaign. GT came back to win the second game after losing the first one at home.

Previous to this match Bengaluru broke their losing streak at Chepauk Stadium with their victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 50 runs. Batting first, RCB posted 196-7. The batting performance showed Virat Kohli provided 31 runs from 30 balls while Rajat Patidar scored 51 runs from 32 balls. The three major wicket takers for this match belonged to Josh Hazlewood (3-21) and Yash Dayal (2-18) who followed him in tandem with Liam Livingstone (2-28).

Gujarat beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 36 runs in their previous IPL 2025 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat batters blazed away with 196-8 while Sai Sudharsan contributed 63 runs from 41 balls at the top of their batting order. Shubman Gill batted for 27 deliveries and scored 38 runs in his additional batting performance but ended without success. Between them Siraj (2-34) along with Prasidh Krishna (2-18) delivered outstanding performances to restrict MI at 160-6 runs.

At the age of 36 Kohli requires 24 more runs to achieve 13,000 T20 cricket runs. When Kohli reaches this milestone he will be the initial Indian player to accomplish it. During 401 matches mostly consisting of 384 innings the right-handed batter has generated 12,976 runs while maintaining a 41.58 average and achieving 134.21 strike rate along with 9 hundred runs and 98 fifty runs.

2. Mohammed Siraj Just 5 Wickets Away From Major IPL Landmark

When Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton were removed from the game against MI, GT pacer Siraj had a significant influence. To reach 100 IPL wickets, the right-arm bowler needs five more. He has taken 95 wickets at an economy rate of 8.70 and an average of 30.63 in 95 games thus far, with two four-fers and a high of 4-21.

3. RCB Skipper Rajat Patidar Just 3 Sixes Away From 150 T20 Maximums

Rajat Patidar, the captain of the RCB, enjoys cleaning the field. His T20 statistics show that he enjoys huge hits. He has hit 190 fours and 147 sixes in 73 innings. Patidar can reach 150 sixes in T20 cricket with three against GT. He has hit 58 of his 147 T20 sixes in 26 IPL innings. In T20 cricket, the 31-year-old has also hit 190 fours and is capable of hitting 200 fours with ten boundaries.

4. Shubman Gill needs to hit one six to complete 100 IPL sixes

In terms of striking boundaries, Gujarat captain Gill has the potential to reach a significant IPL milestone. The right-handed batsman needs just one more six to reach 100 IPL sixes. In 102 innings, Gill has hit 99 maximums.

In addition to his 99 sixes, he has hit 316 fours. Additionally, the 25-year-old is three sixes away from hitting 150 T20 sixes. The graceful batter has hit 147 sixes in 147 games.

5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2 wickets away from entering top 3 of leading IPL wicket-takers

RCB bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will surpass Ravichandran Ashwin (183) and Dwayne Bravo (183) to reach the third position among IPL wicket-takers by taking just two more wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar maintains an impressive statistics of 182 wickets in 177 matches with a 7.55 economy rate and 27.19 average per game. The 146-ball era of Jude Joshi was followed by the domination of Ravichandran Ashwin for seven seasons as he enters IPL 2025 playing for CSK.
