On Thursday, April 17, the Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match, securing a much-needed victory. Playing at home, the five-time winners managed to chase down 163 runs to record their third victory of the year.
The ball came onto the bat slowly as the SRH batsmen, who batted first, battled to get going. Heinrich Klaasen’s final flourish (37), followed by Abhishek Sharma’s 40 off 28 balls, helped the visitors reach 162/5.
Will Jacks (36) led MI in response, while Rohit Sharma contributed a fast-paced 26 to win the match. With four wickets down and 11 balls remaining, Mumbai managed to chase down the goal.

With 34 victories from 81 games while chasing 160 or more, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) are in second place. The Delhi Capitals (31 out of 95) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (31 out of 77) are next in line.
3. Rohit Sharma second Indian batter to complete 4000 runs in wins in the IPL

The veteran right-handed hitter scored 4000 runs in a winning IPL innings today against Hyderabad thanks to a scorching 26. After Virat Kohli, he was the only other Indian batsman to accomplish the milestone. In 120 innings thus far, the former Bengaluru captain has amassed 4492 runs in an IPL victory.
