In the Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) IPL 2025 encounter versus Gujarat Titans (GT) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, April 28, 14-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history with an incredible century. He reached 100 runs in just 35 deliveries, smashing the record for the fastest IPL ton by an Indian.
It was up to Suryavanshi to give his team a strong start because RR had to chase a challenging 210-run mark. He took the GT bowlers to the cleaners with a brilliant display.
The talented teenager blasted seven fours alongside eleven sixes to end his match with great success. The player finished his inning with a remarkable strike rate of 265.79 after scoring 101 runs from his 38-ball batting display. Suryavanshi and Yashavi Jaiswal put together an incredible opening partnership of 166 runs. RR won by a commanding eight wickets after chasing the mark in just 15.5 overs.
In the twelfth over, his fantastic knock was over. With a ferocious yorker, pacer Prasidh Krishna got rid of the daring batter.

Jaiswal reserved his best remarks for Suryavanshi following RR’s victory by eight wickets. He called the knock from his opening partner one of the best he’s seen thus far.
During the presentation after the game, Jaiswal stated:
“Ofcourse I think he has batted incredibly. One of the best innings I have seen. Hopefully he continues in that manner. I was just telling him to keep going, he was just incredible today. I think he played absolutely amazing shots. He really worked hard in the nets and we can see that. Yeah I think, he has the game, temperament and mentality and I wish him all the luck.”
