Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya (L) speaks with his brother and Royal Challengers Bengaluru's player Krunal Pandya during the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 cricket match

Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain, wrote an emotional message for his brother Krunal Pandya on social media after his excellent performance in the IPL 2025 final. His crucial contributions led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a thrilling six-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3.

Krunal finished with 2/17 in four overs, with the wickets of Prabhsimran Singh (26 off 22 balls) and Josh Inglis (39 off 23 deliveries). As RCB took control of the game, his spell left Punjab in ruins.

Spell so sharp, it cut through the chase. This might just be the difference. 🥹🤞 pic.twitter.com/A7iFDvfqvW

Krunal Pandya brings out the straight face celebration, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings, IPL

Krunal Pandya stated his motto following his outstanding performance that helped RCB defeat PBKS by six runs in the IPL 2025 final. According to ESPNcricinfo, the left-arm spinner stated:

“When we batted, we realised the slower you bowl the better it is. In this format, you need guts to do it. I just backed myself, thought I’ll vary my pace and keep it on the slower side more often.”“My biggest strength has been to learn what the situation requires. I knew I had to be brave to get wickets tonight. Thought I’d do that by bowling slow. If you’d have bowled quick, it’d have been a good wicket. But if you mixed it up it was tougher. Pitch actually got easier in the second innings,” he added.

Krunal further claimed that the Pandya brothers have won nine IPL championships in 11 years. He concluded:

“Have enjoyed my time with RCB so far, I said on day one I wanted to win. I told Hardik too that the Pandya household will have nine trophies in 11 years.”

Krunal and Hardik have won two IPL trophies together apart from RCB with Mumbai Indians (MI) — in 2017, 2019 and 2020. Hardik has taken two more IPL trophies with MI, in 2015 and, Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2022.
