In Test cricket, Team India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has a stellar record versus England. With the help of seven tons and thirteen fifties, he has amassed 2,535 runs at an average of 51.73 in 32 games against the Englishmen. Specifically examining his record against England in England, Tendulkar has participated in 17 games and amassed 1,575 runs at a 54.31 average.

The Master Blaster is now the leading run-getter in India versus England. England hosts Test matches. The record is not going to survive long, though. Joe Root, a run machine and former England captain, is almost ready to overtake the Indian icon. To take the record, he only needs to score two runs. Root has amassed 1,574 runs at an average of 74.95 in 15 games, including five fifties and seven tons.

The record for the most 50-plus scores in India vs. England Test matches played in England is shared by Tendulkar and Root. Twelve of both hitters’ scores have above fifty. Root has seven hundreds and five fifties in Test matches in England, compared to Tendulkar’s four hundreds and eight half-centuries. He would also hold the record for the most scores of 50 or higher with one more half-century.

In Test matches between India and England, Root and Tendulkar are also the two players who score the most runs. At the top of the distinguished list is the former English captain. He has appeared in 30 Test matches thus far. The 34-year-old has amassed 2,846 runs at an average of 58.08 in 55 innings, including 10 hundreds, 11 fifties, and a highest of 218.

In his illustrious career, Sachin Tendulkar faced England in 32 Test matches. He scored 2,535 runs at an average of 51.73 in 53 innings. Seven hundreds, thirteen fifties, and a best of 193 were among the former India captain’s statistics. The only other hitters with 2,000 or more runs in India vs. England Test matches are former captains Sunil Gavaskar (2,483) and Alastair Cook (2431).

Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest run scorer in Test cricket history overall. In exactly 200 games, he scored 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78, including 68 half-centuries and 51 hundreds. With 13,006 runs from 153 games, an average of 50.80, 36 tons, and 65 half-centuries, Root is ranked fifth on the renowned list.
