Nitish Kumar Reddy, a young Indian all-rounder, left Leeds before the second Test after forgetting something at the team hotel. England took an early 1-0 lead in the five-match series with a convincing five-wicket victory in the first Test at the Headingley Cricket Ground.
The team management exceeded Nitish in the first test as they decided to play Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja as their all-rounders. The visiting team contingent has now pulled out of Leeds and moved to Birmingham to initiate preparations of the next Test. The second Test will be hosted at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in the city and will be contested by the two sides commencing on Wednesday (July 2).

Before Indian players departed for Birmingham, an intriguing occurrence occurred. Nitish Kumar Reddy was seen getting off the team van to retrieve an item that he had left at the team hotel and then returning after some time.

“Who will take responsibility?” – Aakash Chopra questions Indian pace depth without Jasprit Bumrah

Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player, has voiced his worries over India’s exhausted fast-bowling reserves and pace attack’s lack of depth without Jasprit Bumrah. ‘Aakash Chopra’, the 47-year-old’s YouTube channel, featured a video on the issue.
“The next generation of Indian fast bowlers will have to be prepared. It’s a serious issue. There were two important pillars of team’s good performances away from home. One was batters starting to score runs, but it doesn’t work out with that as you need to pick up 20 wickets. So Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj were outstanding with Jasprit Bumrah.”

“I also remember Ishant Sharma, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s Lord’s Test. When there are doubts about Bumrah’s availability, who will take the responsibility going forward? because Mohammad Shami, I think that story is not over, but it is close to an ending. Mohammed Siraj is good, but he hasn’t reached the rank of Bumrah or Shami.”
