1. First Indian to score hundreds in first three Tests as captain

Shubman Gill scored hundreds in his first two tests as captain. In his first three Test matches as captain, he now has the chance to become the first Indian player to reach the hundred-mark.
In the opening innings of the first Test, he scored 147. He scored 161 in the second innings of the second Test and 269 in the first. To date, no Indian has accomplished this accomplishment. Furthermore, with five hundreds in his first five Test matches as captain, former England skipper Alastair Cook is the only player to have accomplished this record altogether.
2. Third Indian captain to win multiple Tests in England

Although a number of Indian captains have previously triumphed in a Test match in England, just two have done so on many occasions thus far. The only two Indian captains to win several Test matches in England are Virat Kohli and Kapil Dev.
In 1986, in England, India under Kapil Dev won the Test series 2-0 against England. India has never won more than three Tests in England through any of their captains, except Virat Kohli, who won the first three tests of 2018 at Trent Bridge, in 2021 at Lord s and the Oval respectively. Shubman Gill only needs to join this exclusive club of players and be just the third Indian skipper to claim multiple victory Tests in England. Further, a victory in Lord will make him the fourth Indian captain post-Test win in the venue.
3. Most runs in a Test series as Indian captain in England

Shubman Gill has been in outstanding form with the bat this series. In just two Test matches, he has now scored 585 runs at an average of 146.25, including two hundreds and a double hundred.
Gill has just nine runs left to surpass former Test captain Virat Kohli’s record for most runs scored by an Indian captain in an English Test series. During the 2018 tour, Kohli amassed 593 runs at an average of 59.30 from five games, including two hundreds and three half-centuries.
4. Shubman Gill can score the most runs by an Indian batter in England

Shubman Gill has the possibility to become the Indian batter with the most runs in a Test series in England. As previously stated, he has already amassed 585 runs in this series after just four innings.
Former captain and the great Rahul Dravid now holds the world record of the most runs scored by an Indian batsman in England in a Test series. Dravid had got 602 runs in four Tests and six innings with an average of 100.33 including three hundreds and a half century. Hence, Gill is only an 18 run behind this record too.
