Ravindra Jadeja, a Team India all-rounder, criticized Joe Root to take the run as the latter reached 99 on day one of the third Test against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday (July 10). The Yorkshire batter took the necessary single to reach three figures after Jadeja was spotted making a hand gesture and rolling the ball around the ground.
The event happened in the last over of the day, which was sent down by Akash Deep. Root started it by taking a brace off the second delivery while he was on 96. The right-hander nudged it to point on the fourth delivery, taking a single. The Englishman, who had arrived at the non-striker’s end, smiled when Jadeja cheekily challenged the right-hander to take a single.
