Jasprit Bumrah of India walks off after taking 5 wickets during Day Two of the 3rd Rothesay Test Match

Jasprit Bumrah of Team India acknowledged the members’ ovation at Lord’s Cricket Ground after taking a fifer on Day 2 of the third Test against England on Friday. As they made their way through the lengthy chamber to their changing area, the right-arm speedster lifted the ball and noted the cheers.

In the 110th over of the innings, the 31-year-old dismissed Jofra Archer, which led to his dismissal. After throwing, the ball made a substantial change in direction to get beyond the defenses of the right-handed batter. The cricketer, who was born in Ahmedabad, had already claimed his first fifer of the series at Headingley in Leeds, and this was his second.

Harry Brook of England looks on after being bowled out by Jasprit Bumrah of India during Day One of the 3rd Rothesay Test Match

Despite taking 15 overs for his first wicket on Day 1 at Lord’s, Bumrah was quite economical. Harry Brook was his first target; a nip-backer cleaned him up and he was on the stumps. Additionally, he opened the game early on Day 2 by dismissing Chris Woakes (0), Joe Root (104), and Ben Stokes (44), giving Team India the advantage.

The home team took the lead thanks to an 84-run partnership between the two. Playing his first Test since February 2021, Jofra Archer hit in his opening over of the innings before being knocked out for 387. Yashasvi Jaiswal was discharged by him for thirteen, including three boundaries.
