Nitish Kumar Reddy struck twice in his first over, England vs India

Nitish Kumar Reddy, an all-rounder for Team India, will miss the rest of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy because of an injury. The 22-year-old took Shardul Thakur’s place as the pace bowling all-rounder in the playing XI for the last two Test matches.

As per reports, as per the Times of India, Nitish Kumar Reddy flew with the rest of the team to Manchester, but has not been involved in the optional training camp, which was a closed door event. The new setback injury is likely to keep him out till the rest of the series.

“It is understood that the all-rounder travelled with the team to Manchester but didn’t take any part in optional training session at Old Trafford,” the Times of India report read.

Nitish Kumar Reddy had an injury prior to the Zimbabwe tour in 2024, and fellow all-rounder Shivam Dube replaced him at the last minute. Eventually, a few months later, he made his T20I debut in the home series against Bangladesh.

The Men in Blue are dealing with a severe injury crisis as the series approaches its conclusion in England. Anshul Kamboj has been selected by the team management to replace pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep for the fourth Test match in Manchester.

The all-rounder’s twin strike on Day 1 of the third Test at Lord’s, which saw him eliminate Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, had a huge impact. Before being removed on the stroke of lunch on Day 5, he amassed a useful 30 in the first innings and a tough 13 in the run chase.
