Rishabh Pant of India walks out to bat during Day Two of the 4th Rothesay Test Match

India star player Rishabh Pant in fourth Test match against England was spectacularly tough, he came out to bat with a fractured toe. The first-innings ruined the wicketkeeper-batsman and resulted in a poor injury to the toe when a ball thrown by Chris Woakes hit his right leg in the first innings of the Test in Old Trafford. This duration that he managed to spend in the crease proved to be very significant as this enabled India to make a substantial first innings score.

The ace cricketer has been pulled out of the series-deciding fifth Test, and he has been replaced by Narayan Jagadeesan. Pant has now resorted to his official social media account to thank his supporters and fans for their concern about his injuries. He will now fly back home and begin his recuperation. The Haridwar native also stated that he is ready to return to international cricket as quickly as possible.

“Appreciate all the love and good wishes coming my way. It’s been a real source of strength. I will begin rehab once my fracture heals, and I am slowly settling into the process. Staying patient, following the routines and giving it my 100%. Playing for the country has always been the proudest moment of my life. Can’t wait to be back doing what I love,” he wrote in his post on X.

Pant was India’s force to be reckoned with during the current England tour. With his sad dismissal, he would end the tour with 479 runs from seven innings at an amazing average of 68.42. Pant is currently trailing only his captain, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul, who have scored 722 and 511 runs in the series respectively. Pant will leave the tour with two centuries and three half-centuries. Hopefully, he’ll be back in action for the Indians’ next red ball assignment.

Test cricket fans will have to wait a few months after the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 concludes before seeing the Baggy Blues return to action. In October of this year, they will invite the West Indies to a two-game Test series in Ahmedabad and New Delhi. In between, India will compete in the Asia Cup, which is set to take place in September.
