The Hundred franchise, London Spirit, has selected Mo Bobat as its new Director of Cricket, effective October 1, 2025. The declaration came after the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and US-based digital investment group digital Titans decided they will keep the London Spirit name as the franchise switches to private ownership.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the future of The Hundred last week, with all eight franchises shifting to private ownership. MCC currently owns 51% of London Spirit, while Tech Titans has acquired the remaining 49%. The franchise affirmed that ‘London Spirit’ will remain key to its identity, with a new brand identity debuting in early 2026.
“Today marks a significant moment for London Spirit. Mo Bobat brings unmatched expertise and vision to the role of Director of Cricket, and we’re thrilled to welcome him. At the same time, retaining the London Spirit name reflects our belief in the identity that’s been built – one that resonates with the capital, our fans, and our values. We now look ahead to a new era, with fresh energy and clear purpose,” London Spirit Chairman, Julian Metherell, said in an MCC statement.
