His total of runs made is more than 11,000 of which 2,407 of this run have been against Australia averaging 57.30 in 46 matches. Rohit has also got 2,021 runs in 53 matches against Sri Lanka, at the average of 45.93, and 1,037 runs in 31 One-Day Internationals against New Zealand, the average of 38.32.

Jayasuriya played 8,108 runs in 273 matches making him average 31.79 with a strike rate of 89.62. He had 8,000-plus runs, 2,151 of them against Pakistan in 65 matches and scored 35.85 per game. The former captain of Sri Lanka also made 1,672 and 49 runs against India with a ratio of 38 as well as 1,004 and 32 against New Zealand with a ratio that constituted 32.38.

After 140 innings, he has scored 5,376 runs, averaging 40.42 with a strike rate of 94.94 best of 189, against India in the Coca-Cola champions Trophy final in Sharjah in October 2000. In his 13 tons in 273 ODIs, 11 were in wins, one in loss and one in no result.

At neutral venues, in 64 matches, he has scored 2,598 runs including eight hundred and 16 half-centuries to his credit with a career average of 50.94 at a strike rate of 88.36.

During his first 273 matches, Jayasuriya played only 82 matches outside his home grounds with 2,094 runs at an average of 26.84 runs and a strike rate of 88.31 with the help of four hundreds and 11 half-centuries. The former Lankan skipper played 115 matches at neutral venues where he logged in 3,609 runs in an average of 32.80 at a strike rate of 89.66 including five centuries 21 half-centuries.
